What are some examples of British-ruled HK citizens having less freedom than today’s PRC citizens? From my limited knowledge, the government of Hong Kong was quite liberal, which created its large economic inequality, low literacy rate, and high spot in the freedom index today. Many would argue it was too liberal in some senses.
