I would say so. For me (in the US), the amount of TikTok reposts on platforms like Twitter and Instagram seems to grow by the day and I rarely, if ever, see the concern about it being a Chinese app raised.
- papeda 6y agoMaybe there are two type of soft power. The first type is where a company makes a globally popular product. The second type is where a company makes a globally popular product that is recognizably "of its country". TikTok is the first, McDonalds/Hollywood/NBA is the second?
