I kinda feel the same. For me, it's because most of the stuff I work on aren't real time systems, so go level GC pauses are acceptable. The mental tax of worrying about ownership just gets in the way of solving the problem in this case. For what it's worth, I've done Haskell professionally, and nowadays I'm not in love with it either. If I was working on something where the best alternative is C++, I'd probably feel different. Right tool for the job and all of that.
