Perhaps it would also encourage managers to manage rather than dictate and command; and horrible, unruly customers would get a much faster "we're not serving you" response if some shame of a person caused an employee to quit right as they're ordering their meal. There's something very real and very healthy about taking power away from those that shouldn't have that power; and abusive customers and failures of managers are some people that might do well to have their pegs knocked down a notch or two.
