Yes, I am speaking generally that we can avoid situations like this going forward by not doing it in the first place.
- TeMPOraL 6y agoThat's a fair point, but if we want to truly reduce animal suffering, we have to reengineer the entire biosphere. We have to take control of the "circle of life" to ensure a humane end for all animals. Because natural life isn't in any way better for animals; your options there are to suffer and die of starvation, or suffer and die by being torn apart and eaten. The life and suffering of wild animals is the ultimate "out of sight, out of mind".
- bbrree66 6y agoThis is a red herring. Let's start with the suffering that we are purposely creating, in mass. The numbers of factory-farmed animals dying dwarfs anything else.
