We've been using Crystal on an open source project I work on. https://github.com/cncf/cnf-conformance/ https://github.com/cncf/cnf-conformance/ Its been a dream. You can pretty much write the ruby you are used to but it performs like a compiled language and you can make binaries. Was SUPER skeptical at first when the team decided on it but its been a pleasant surprise.
