Tesla are aiming for full self driving, aren't they? If they have managed to find a simpler problem set that will still allow them to reach that outcome and release incrementally, isn't that a smarter approach?
- sidibe 6y agoI think that releasing a product is still completely orthogonal to building an autonomous vehicle at this point, so it's maybe a smarter approach for their bottom line but doesn't get them to autonomy any faster. I think to accept that delivering incrementally is helpful for making an L4 car you have to believe that having more data is the bottleneck, which probably isn't the case after a few million miles.
