First world nations have mind-boggling tax revenue, so they should fund programs like paid family leave and higher education (within reasonable limits). (I feel like humanity is inexorably tending towards the attitude "everything should just be provided to us, no questions asked", so I really hope full-scale automation happens in my lifetime. I think it's the best way we can maximize happiness across the planet.)
