I had a similar thing happen to my post [1] a month or so ago — one minute it was #1, then after a refresh, it vanished. No flag (that I know of), no explanation. When things happen like this, explanations are helpful to the submitter and/or the commenters, whichever was causing the problems. I suppose this opens things up for debate, but not sure a silent removal of content is great for the community either.
