I had excellent knowledge of Chemistry theory, but I could not for the life of me get the expected results in lab. Like, I know that you should not be able to make a battery out of a lead anode and a lead cathode in distilled water, but I did. That sort of practicum may be a reasonable test, but could give very different results than the normal written exam.
