Ask HN: Is there a search engine which includes only what the Chinese government wants me to see?
- starfallg 6y agoThat was tongue-in-cheek, but I guess some people are legitimately offended enough to downvote.
- jotm 6y agoWhat are they blocking anyway? Anything important? There's so many Chinese forums for hardware/firmware hacking/mods, a shame translators are still very bad...
- cameronbrown 6y agoDefinitely. What if I want to research information on a certain 1989 student protest to write a paper about censorship?
- jotm 6y agoLook, I know it's important history and all, but looking at it realistically, it's a tiny part of the information the average person needs. Them removing Reddit, EdX, Sci-hub or the Hong Kong Companies Registry from search results would have a much bigger impact.
- starfallg 6y agoYou very conveniently left out Wikipedia and all of the other sites that are censored.
