- Deukhoofd 6y agoIt often is a good thing for touch screens, but for desktops it's often a bit less practical. It's important to find a good balance between the two.
- Quanttek 6y agoEven for desktop, I prefer the new design. It still makes it easier to click and improves how quickly one can gain an overview
- SebastianKra 6y agoThe sentiment that less space = better annoys me. It's also brought up in defense whenever someone criticizes the HN-Design. The old design [1] only used less space because its buttons were way too small and impossible to understand - Bad on desktop, unusable on mobile. The new design uses more space to clearly label every button and differentiate between actions and information. _And_ it looks better doing it. - nelaboras 6y agoI think its better. two peeves: - no 'new tab' option in the menu - URL/search bar is finally at the bottom, but when you use it it moves to the top. very annoying little detail.
