I think the significance is that Walmart is entering this field. This really could introduce new audiences to backpacking that normally don't even think of going into REI.
- Kalium 6y agoThere are also quite a few places with a Walmart and no nearby REI. There are whole states without REI stores. If Walmart rolls these lines out to every store, that's a massive expansion of access.
