An interesting article that speaks more about the Catholicism's own imperfections in times of uncertainty without investing a single word on the topic.
The author appears to paint doubt, as in long, sleepless nights spent tossing and turning over the matter of existence, perfection, meaning as a particular suffering for which atheists have no answer. He tells us that we are unable to face the flaws in our perfect visions of liberalism. He posits that the current pandemic has exposed the flaws of our ways and we are now suffering, Job-like, in the desert that is secular liberalism.
This is exactly the type of article I love to see on hackernews - a contrasting opinion from my own announced from the comfort and safety of another person's echo chamber, on a topic I enjoy and without a drop of the venom of defensiveness.
If only I could be as certain of the things I know for fact as this author is about people he appears never to have met.
