This case is pretty irregular as far as rule of law goes. You just don't see executives imprisoned for corporate accounting shenanigans or trade with the wrong countries way down in their reporting chain. The laws are long and can capture anyone, why was this one brought to bear in particular, at this particular time? I suspect we have very different opinions on how frequently police lie on the stand.
