A Clockwork Orange... the movie was OK, but the book was much much more enjoyable IMHO.
Lord of the Rings... I would say I enjoyed the movies a lot.
Altered Carbon... I liked the book a bit better, although the writing wasn't the greatest.
Watchmen... the graphic novel was much better and enjoyable than the movie.
- lostmsu 6y agoI haven't read Watchmen, but the movie is very very good. The others you mentioned are just OK, true.
- blaser-waffle 6y agoI read the comic and I get why people complain about the movie... but taken on it's own it's decent.
- karatestomp 6y agoIt’s not exactly an adaptation, but the recent miniseries sequel to Watchmen (the graphic novel, not the movie) is, implausibly, outstanding and very much feels right, as a continuation of the story.
- skilesare 6y agoHave you watched the watchman tv show yet? Never read the books or watched the movie but this series caught me so off guard. It was wonderful and strange. At least strange from pre 2020 standards. If squid fell from the sky tomorrow I’d just brush it off at this point.
