- kragen 16y agoWiktionary defines "nitpick" as "To correct minutiae or find fault in unimportant details." But "Go To Statement Considered Harmful" (http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.92.4846&rep=rep1&type=pdf http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.92....) is not about minutiae or unimportant details; it is about how to approach the task of writing a computer program that does what you want instead of something else, a task that is at the core of the modern economy.
- jamesaguilar 16y agoThere's a difference between a nitpick and a paper that basically defines a new programming paradigm (or delineates the need for it compared to another paradigm).
