This surprises me. When I was in China 10 years ago, I certainly noticed (as a Brit) how normal it was to see people walking down the street hand in hand. It didn't seem to matter if they were two guys, girls or, err, any other combination. I wonder if things have changed or if it was a regional difference. I was in Shenyang at the time.
