I re-created my personal website trying to build a compelling web experience that works without JavaScript and any third parties. With so much of an emphasis on front-end frameworks and JavaScript runtimes, I wanted to try to get back to basics... just for fun.

- tomca32 6y agoGreat job! People often insist that JS is necessary for interactivity, and it really, really isn't. You can create interactive web experiences without JS, and just add sprinkles of it when it makes sense. "Basics" are more than enough for the vast majority of web content.
- InInteraction 6y agoThank you! I agree -- most sites on the web are just content and there's no reason to have excessive JavaScript or any reason why the page can't be perfectly functional without it. Some people call it 'The Website Obesity Crisis'.
