If it ever gets back in stock, the Portal TV is great for this. Follows my kid around during the weekly chats with her grandparents. I know a lot of HN is pretty anti-FB, so depends on your philosophy, but it's a pretty cool device.
- cjwebb 6y agoYeah, I agree - it looks good, but it is Facebook :) The auto-following is a pretty neat feature though! I might try and pick one up to play around with when they're back in stock. The real sticking point for me, apart from the lack of stock, is that I never call anyone using WhatsApp or Messenger. I'd ideally like compatibility with other platforms. I figured I'd start with Jitsi as its open-source, and go from there I did briefly look at how I could get FaceTime working on something, but I think it involved jailbreaking an iPhone and getting access to the SSL certs.
