Why do you think it's a less standard definition?

  Common English uses oomph to express power, speed, acceleration, strength, etc. Flexibility or broad capability is not the usual meaning. A simple dictionary search (multiple dictionaries) backs this up.

    Replace your assumption I was referring to processor performance with actual work completed instead :)
