I guess the obvious question is whether 80% of electricity supply meets demand, probably not, how can Japan generate the additional 20% in a hurry?
- Lost_BiomedE 16y agoDemand may be lower for quite a while, due to the same events that caused disruption.
- pedrocr 16y agoLosing a plant means you lose a percentage of your peak capacity but not necessarily that you won't be able to provide the total amount of energy demanded by the economy. You could potentially move a portion of the usage to off-peak hours, starting with some industrial loads for example, moving a few factory shifts to the night.
