I have to believe that this means that Twitter is looking at turning on the revenues and likely with in stream "sponsored tweets" or some other similar type of nonsense and they don't want third parties stripping out these ads. Its always been strange that they'd let 3rd parties be a primary interaction model since its very hard to monetize other peoples clients.
