If I remember rightly, this is actually one of the core ideas in The Mythical Man Month.
- p_l 6y agoThere is a librarian in the mythical man-month, and there are documentation writers and secretaries. All crucial to successful team - the librarian AFAIK was more about keeping stock of code (but would also fit with design docs), technical writers were crucial in transforming developer's ramblings into proper documentation, secretaries helped keep everything running smoothly, etc.
