Years ago I tried implementing a wiki at work as a knowledge base. While the user base remained reserved to select members of the team, everything was great. But the success of the wiki then became an invitation to the rest of the company. And soon knuckleheads were simply uploading Word documents to the wiki. So, instead of getting transparent, searchable content, we reverted to /index.html, circa 1992.
