Be aware that going towards a document heavy culture doesn't make the smarmy types any less smarmy, it just changes how it is manifested. You'll still have those who use the "can we get on a call and discuss" trick so that no decision or todo item for them is seen in a public channel. There will be those why try to kill a conversation in a channel by replying in a thread. Often you'll see the thread reply too when its the poor employees answering a question hours/days later and then they'll point to it as giving $teammate all the info they need. And the ever-present "oh, its in the wiki/knowledgebase/faq/whatever" but links are never sent, nor is anything ever actually there. All in all it a different medium, but most of the same kind of team dysfunctions continue to exist just fine, and if anything it is tougher to spot them.
