Give them each £1,000 a month, and you get a cost of £624,000,000,000, which is 3 times what the UK currently spends on "welfare"[0], and is about 3/4 of the overall UK budget. And you're cutting the payments of a sizeable number of current welfare receipients. Sure you can find more recent figures, or play around with how much you claim you're going to give, but let's not entertain the fantasy that this is a "mild comparative cost".
