All of the above should (hopefully) improve with time: vaccination (which will take on the order of years and not weeks or months), more effective treatment, more learning about the disease and risk factors, more ventilators and PPE produced and more widespread testing. The US is especially poorly suited to deal with a lot of people with a life-long debilitating illness from damaged lungs.
