I think it’s pretty clear that a lot of things have been going wrong in this effort and there was probably a lot of waste. This is to be expected when it’s required to act quickly with lack of good data. I only hope the political systems will allow a serious retrospective of the measures and learning from that. I am very afraid that the partisans and conspiracy theorists will take over soon and no rational decisions for the future will be made so we will stay unprepared for the next pandemic.
