Isn't gcc a GPL? How can Apple not distribute it?
- adsr 16y agoThey do distribute it, it's on the OS X install disk.
- rayiner 16y agoFirst, Apple does make the GCC source available: http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/gcc/gcc-5646/ http://www.opensource.apple.com/source/gcc/gcc-5646/ Second, Apple doesn't ship GCC in the default install, why would they need to make it the source available?
- DougBTX 16y agoAlso, the download via http://www.opensource.apple.com/release/developer-tools-324/ http://www.opensource.apple.com/release/developer-tools-324/ includes a built version of gcc, i686-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1.
