My cheap 2 year old ultraportable Lenovo supports 32 gigs of ram. And it's DDR4. And they're still socketed.

The person I was replying to made it sound like they didn't offer this for their ultraportables, I guess I misread it.

Hell, my 7-year-old W530 has had 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) since the day I got it -- and it's not soldered in either!

Lenovo has plenty of 32GB Thinkpads... nothing new.

I meant in the ultraportable space, which smacktoward made it sound like they don't offer.

Just that 32GB isn’t considered “a lot” I guess. Besides DDR4 SODIMM 32GB modules exist, if 32GB is what you want you just buy it off Amazon and put it in. Don’t have to mess around with “what they offer us the privilege to be able to purchase” like with soldered RAM.
