When learning something, trying to reward myself when I feel stupid or frustrated, because that generally means I'm doing something difficult that will pay off long-term.
I think of this as another 'habit to unlearn from school' (https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/48WeP7oTec3kBEada/two-more-things-to-unlearn-from-school https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/48WeP7oTec3kBEada/two-more-t...). For most of my life, I did what came easily, and I got a lot of praise and reward in those areas. I neglected the things that made me feel stupid or frustrated, and I think that consequently, my education is not as well-rounded as it might be.
Or, like Jake the Dog says [0]: "Dude, sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something."
