My kids are almost four and almost two. After a cumulative almost 4,000 readings through a small library of their favorites I can now recite classics like Goodnight Moon from memory. Not exactly great literature but they are usually structured as poems, of a sort. My wife and I quote their favorites at each other at opportune moments. They are, of course, completely oblivious.
