We are going to the cloud, but you have to be careful. With on-prem the limit of the cost is the server. Someone writes inefficient code and it just doesn’t work. In the cloud there are 1000 ways to overspend and the vendors purposefully don’t make it easy to track or keep things under control. It’s kind of like outsourcing. If you don’t know what you are doing, cost goes up and quality goes down.
