- ssequeira 6y agoThere's little that can be said about Dirichlet processes without measure theory; fundamentally speaking they are random measures. That said, the vast majority of the book presupposes no measure theory.
- stenecdote 6y agoI don't think this is true having read some of the later chapters and not knowing measure theory. And if you don't trust me, Gelman doesn't know measure theory either (https://statmodeling.stat.columbia.edu/2008/01/14/what_to_learn_i/ https://statmodeling.stat.columbia.edu/2008/01/14/what_to_le...) and he wrote the book...
