It's good to formalize your deploy & provisioning scripts to cut out on human error. And it's nice when bringing up a decent number of machines. I've used rubber to bring up 150 machines without any problems. The other nice thing that a tool like rubber or moonshine helps out with is auto-updating configuration. E.g., add a new app server and it automatically gets added to the haproxy pool.
