Go work at the warehouse after your day job? So you can see what the problems are from your perspective as an engineer ...
- SamWhited 6y agoHomeDepot makes all their developers do this at least once a year, from what I've heard. I've always liked this idea (although I do wonder how effective it is?).
- all_blue_chucks 6y agoHD app has in-store GPS for finding stuff so it seems to be working.
- chrisgoman 6y agoShould be how every company works ... you will be surprised at what you will learn just walking around. It does take some initiative from the person -- do you just want a job or do you want to be the BEST in your job
- mattrp 6y agoThis is a pretty good idea. I'd be surprised if there isn't already an engineering / SW team doing this to create better tools / conditions. Maybe there's a way to pull request your ideas into this effort (presuming an effort exists)?
- plandis 6y agoThere is an internal program at Amazon to do this. You can go work in an FC for a few days to see what it’s like. I’d recommend it to all Amazon employees.
