so I played the bass.. and though the notes are on piano keys, they're wrong (left to right should go up in pitch) also, if this is jazz, use fingerstyle bass

also, if this is jazz, use fingerstyle bass instead of a bow
(note: this is meant as constructive criticism to inspire improvement in the idea, not disparage it)
- sthatipamala 16y agoI knew I had the wrong type of bass! Thanks for the feedback.
- JonnieCache 16y ago'Slap bass' is another word for the type of thing you're looking for.
- rbxbx 16y agonope :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pizzicato http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pizzicato would be the appropriate style of playing.
- wazoox 16y agoFor funk, certainly. For jazz, not so much.
- JonnieCache 16y agoJazz is a pretty broad church. You can certainly slap a double bass. That was the only way anyone could hear it over the rest of the band before amplification was common.
- wazoox 16y agoI know you can slap a double bass, but this is not what people are talking about when calling the instrument "slap bass" usually. It's more Marcus Miller than Charlie Mingus, though both make music called "jazz".
