- The_Colonel 6y agorust has huge mental overhead for most webdev work go is incredibly weak language in some regards (error handling?) From these 3 I would still pick PHP for webdev.
- simion314 6y agoWhy would I use Rust for Web dev or anything else that is not some low level system programming? I mean if you want to write some toy project and want to learn sure, but for a serious project I would chose something that uses a higher level programming language, that has a big and stable standard library and that also has a big community made , well tested libraries to work with.
- dastx 6y ago> weak typing and legacy bloat Lots of legacy stuff has been removed. Static typing has been added as a feature back in PHP 7.0.
- valand 6y agoI love rust, it's great once you adapt to it, but I don't think it'll be anytime soon people would convert to Rust (although I wish they will). The paradigm and the workflow are alien to most, the discipline needed to write with it needs learning.
