Pardon me for the language I use in this post, but stuff like this annoys me.
This is daft. The lockdown was necessary because the man in charge sat on his hands while his rich friends were profiting from the pandemic and getting richer. Eventually it became too late for measures like what Sweden has done. Even now they still haven't figured out PPE kits and/or testing kits, and when states take matters into own hands, the feds confiscate them in the name of national security. No one knows where are all this confiscated goods are going.
The reason lockdowns aren't working in the US is because daft people believe in dumb ass propaganda machines like Fox News (who don't see themselves as a news organisation), and Alex Jones (who thinks he's the smartest person alive and everyone is conspiring against him to make a quick buck).
Lockdowns are not nice, but if you don't get off your ass and give every person everywhere testing kits for free, lockdown is your only choice.
Don't hate the lockdown, hate your own government for failing to protect your own citizens by putting corporations and profits above people. Hate your government for failing to address the extremists. They're quick to add measures when it comes to foreigners but haven't done anything against the likes of Rush Limbaugh (pardon any misspelling).
Now if you're one of those that values the economy over people's lives, you need to re-evaluateyour life choices. the economy can get rebuilt again, as has happened over and over again. Destroyed lives cannot get rebuild. The dead don't come back. I guarantee you if your friend or family gets the virus and dies (and I sincerely hope that doesn't happen to anyone), you'll be one of the first advocating for something like a lockdown.
The US has become a ridiculous place for the rich, and f* everyone else.
