- rjkennedy98 6y agoBuying a modem and plugging it in is incredibly - mindbogglingly easy. You plug the modem into a wall and plug the ethernet cable into the router. Thats it. Period. It saves you $150 a year. Everyone I know that didn't do it was too lazy, or completely fiscally illiterate. It takes no time (its actually faster than getting someone to come out to install the box which usually that has to be set up weeks in advance). There is no excuse for not doing it.
