Funny story: 5 years ago I bought my own motorola cable modem and had Comcast come out and install it in my new house. Next month, i saw modem rental on my bill. I call them. They insist that actually they own this equipment and are leasing it to me. I mean, what do you even say to this? I sent a copy of the receipt from Amazon and told them I would sue them in small claims court if they kept charging me for it. It worked, but it still blows my mind.
