It was shocking how fast some corporate players went "lean". Almost as if they were waiting for a viable excuse to do so without blowback rather than out of actual necessity. They know they have the upper hand. People are deathly afraid of being unemployed, something that was just starting to fade away after 2008.
- toasterlovin 6y agoOn the other hand, if your cash flow generation stops because sales stop, employees are often the largest remaining expense. And you can't delay paying employees, unlike vendors. So you have to be decisive, or else you can go from having a healthy company to financial insolvency in the span of a few weeks.
