Do you just mean that a car centred city is more noisy and dirty than an economically-equivalent city that has fewer cars? They've been amazing for human beings if you take a broader/longer perspective.

- kevin_thibedeau 6y agoThey're pedestrian hostile. That creates a vicious cycle of driving people out to suburbs, hollowing out businesses that would cater to full time residents, making it even less desirable to live there.
