I used an IKEA picture frame for this purpose. It was relatively easy to fit one of the larger Waveshare screens inside, I only needed to cut a hole into the cardboard on the backside for the wires. A Pi Zero fits pretty nicely behind the cardboard piece that holds the screen in place, as the frame is rather thick. If you only glance at it, it looks like I framed a paper printout of my agenda.
