I wonder why they are so easily able to work with and integrate external services, but they couldn't work with and integrate with their own internal services. I think it has to do with the fact that the boundaries to the external services are well defined and enforced because there is a physical aspect to it. Perhaps they lack the will to create and enforce those boundaries between their internal services.
