- thatguy0900 6y agoI'll believe that if mickey mouse becomes public domain. Currently slated for 2024, apparently.
- thendrill 6y agoExcept for Disney IP. Such an irony since Disney made all its initial money by animating public domain works. Fuck that mouse
- wahern 6y agoCopyright for pre-1972 recordings was effectively extended in 2018 an additional 25 years, depending on your state: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Modernization_Act#Title_II:_CLASSICS_Act https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Modernization_Act#Title_... State-based copyright for recordings in California, for example, was 70 years. The extension of federal copyright to cover pre-1972 recordings ensures a 95-year duration--longer for some earlier works.
