The article says 435 in Sept which was 8%.
- jedberg 6y agoAh ok. Article is paywalled for me so I couldn't see that.
- lainga 6y ago8% of what? All employees, or engineering? (435/0.08) ~= 5400, and Uber's S-1 filing says they had 22,263 employees as of 31-12-2018. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1543151/000119312519103850/d647752ds1.htm https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1543151/000119312519... (ed. - article says 27,000... but Uber's had three low-hundreds firings chunks tallying ~1260 total over last summer, and said they were freezing engineering hires. Were the extra 8k hired in the first half of 2019?)
- artursapek 6y ago22,000 employees not counting drivers? Holy crap.
- newfriend 6y agoDid you actually think they had 22,000 employees including drivers? What a fatuous remark
- artursapek 6y agoI honestly have no idea how many people drive for Uber. I guess it's in the hundreds of thousands?
- newfriend 6y agoSorry I thought most people knew they operate in basically every major city worldwide that hasn't outlawed it. From https://www.uber.com/en-US/newsroom/company-info/ https://www.uber.com/en-US/newsroom/company-info/ > Facts and figures as of December 2018 > 3.9 million drivers
- artursapek 6y agoHoly shit, was not aware it was that many
