As a young man, I spent some time in India. As an experiment one day, I wrote a postcard to my parents back in the UK, addressed in Devanagari script. In the message, I wrote something to the effect that it was intended as a challenge to the British postal service. It was duly delivered to my parents in rural Sussex, with a pencilled note saying "the challenge has been met".
