A lot of the bastardization and commercialization of the Agile core tenets could have been mitigated by the early pioneers broadcasting the dirty secret: To deliver any real business value following these philosophies requires an extremely mature, experienced team. Not just great engineers, but also great communicators that actually care at least a little bit about the mission/product/goal. This simply does not scale and is a complete antithesis of 99% of organizations culture and hierarchical structure.
